Friday, June 26 was signing day for Kristin Pierce, the winner of Taylor Morrison's 2009 Dream Home Giveaway. Pierce and her husband, Geoff, met with Taylor Morrison Sales Associate Tom Eubank at Stratland Estates in Gilbert, Ariz., to finalize their paperwork and to take a look at the home site they picked out. It will take approximately four months for the Pierce home to be built and everyone is excited to see the process start - especially little Anson Pierce, who occupied himself with a little red fire truck in the sales office while Mom and Dad signed the necessary paperwork. Soon, Anson will not only have a new bedroom to call home but also a neighborhood park right down the street in which he can play to his heart's content.

2009 Taylor Morrison Dream Home winner Kristin Pierce was in the spotlight on Wednesday, June 24, as she met the media for the first time. Kristin and her husband, Geoff, were interviewed at the Taylor Morrison Design Center in Scottsdale and had the opportunity to show Phoenix's local Fox affiliate the cabinets and design features they had chosen for their home.

Meet Kristin Pierce, who lives just outside Phoenix, Arizona. She is the winner of the 2009 Taylor Morrison Dream Home Giveaway. Out of 147,286 entries, Kristin’s name was drawn and we attempted to notify her of this incredible prize.

The call intended to notify Kristin Pierce of her winning entry in the 2009 Taylor Morrison Dream Home Giveaway contest almost never happened. As Taylor Morrison officials were calling Pierce to tell her that she’d won, Pierce was talking to a friend on the phone. As she talked, the phone rang again, and Pierce assumed it was a telemarketer.

"I just ignored it," Kristin said. Later that evening, as her family arrived from Utah and the house filled with guests, the phone rang again. This time, Kristin wisely answered the call.

"My house is in total chaos," she said, setting the scene. "The kids are so excited to be out of the car that they’re running around screaming."

As Kristin strained to hear the caller, she learned that she had been selected as the winner. Moments later, still in a state of shock and in front of a house full of guests, she made the announcement that she’d won.

"I just won a house," Pierce told her family, still trying to convince even herself. "I just won a house! I could not believe it."
