Framing crews started constructing and putting in place the walls to Kristin Pierce's dream home today. The home, which is expected to be completed by this fall, will continue to be framed tomorrow with the installation of the home's truss system. Here a construction worker lifts one of the wall's to the 2,200-square-foot Vintage model that Pierce and her husband chose after winning the contest.

Kristin Pierce, the winner of the 2009 Taylor Morrison Dream Home Giveaway, was greeted by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse today at the Disneyland Resort as the winner was presented with the ceremonial key to her new home. 

Pierce, who brought along her husband, Geoff, and her family for a weekend in the park, got the opportunity to meet Mickey and Minnie, have her photo taken with them and receive a tour of the Innoventions Dream Home before the California amusement park opened for the day.

"I can't imagine to come here on better circumstances," Pierce said. "It's been really great."

It was the Arizona wife and mother's first trip to Disneyland, another first for the couple, who have never owned their own home.

"I just found out today that this is their first trip to Disneyland and this is their first home," said Pierrette Tierney of Taylor Morrison, who presented Kristin and Geoff with the ceremonial key to their home. "It's pretty impressive for a first home...it's just so exciting to be a part of something like that."

With her Disneyland trip now completed, Pierce is looking forward to the construction of her dream home, currently underway in Phoenix, Ariz. While meeting Mickey and Minnie was exciting, the Dream Home Giveaway winner knows there are more thrills to come.

"I can't wait to watch my home being built," she said..

Friday, June 26 was signing day for Kristin Pierce, the winner of Taylor Morrison's 2009 Dream Home Giveaway. Pierce and her husband, Geoff, met with Taylor Morrison Sales Associate Tom Eubank at Stratland Estates in Gilbert, Ariz., to finalize their paperwork and to take a look at the home site they picked out. It will take approximately four months for the Pierce home to be built and everyone is excited to see the process start - especially little Anson Pierce, who occupied himself with a little red fire truck in the sales office while Mom and Dad signed the necessary paperwork. Soon, Anson will not only have a new bedroom to call home but also a neighborhood park right down the street in which he can play to his heart's content.

2009 Taylor Morrison Dream Home winner Kristin Pierce was in the spotlight on Wednesday, June 24, as she met the media for the first time. Kristin and her husband, Geoff, were interviewed at the Taylor Morrison Design Center in Scottsdale and had the opportunity to show Phoenix's local Fox affiliate the cabinets and design features they had chosen for their home.

Meet Kristin Pierce, who lives just outside Phoenix, Arizona. She is the winner of the 2009 Taylor Morrison Dream Home Giveaway. Out of 147,286 entries, Kristin’s name was drawn and we attempted to notify her of this incredible prize.

The call intended to notify Kristin Pierce of her winning entry in the 2009 Taylor Morrison Dream Home Giveaway contest almost never happened. As Taylor Morrison officials were calling Pierce to tell her that she’d won, Pierce was talking to a friend on the phone. As she talked, the phone rang again, and Pierce assumed it was a telemarketer.

"I just ignored it," Kristin said. Later that evening, as her family arrived from Utah and the house filled with guests, the phone rang again. This time, Kristin wisely answered the call.

"My house is in total chaos," she said, setting the scene. "The kids are so excited to be out of the car that they’re running around screaming."

As Kristin strained to hear the caller, she learned that she had been selected as the winner. Moments later, still in a state of shock and in front of a house full of guests, she made the announcement that she’d won.

"I just won a house," Pierce told her family, still trying to convince even herself. "I just won a house! I could not believe it."
